Electrical Conductivity Measurement on Metallic Materials With a Cylindrical Resonator

This article presents a novel method for measuring the electrical conductivity of metallic materials using cylindrical resonator. The theory and process are explained. resonator is designed proved full-wave electromagnetic simulations. A prototype operating at 10.5 GHz fabricated, scattering parameters measured. quality factor calculated first step from measured parameters, material derived Maxwell's equations. By replacing top cover with different or sheets, conductivities can be easily. For validating method, three covers six sheets fabricated tested. compared other published results typical values. Besides, by adjusting frequency resonator, proposed applied to determine specific frequencies.
